The Great British Bake Off has provided fans with a first look at Alison Hammond in her new presenting role.

A new teaser trailer for this year's series follows a group of ingredients as they embark on an epic journey to the tent, where they are baked into the chocolate and raspberry cake from the competition show's opening titles.

We next see the cake being devoured by returning judges Paul Hollywood and Prue Leith, as well as returning host Noel Fielding and his new co-host Alison.

Earlier on Wednesday (August 30), the competition show's official Twitter page shared an image of the This Morning presenter posing outside the iconic Bake Off tent alongside her Noel, Paul and Prue.

"New series. New bakers. New host," the tweet read. "Join Paul, Prue, Noel and Alison in the Tent of Dreams as The Great British Bake Off returns to our screens. Coming soon to @Channel4."

Alison was announced as Matt Lucas' replacement back in March, and said she was "absolutely thrilled" to be stepping into the role.

Prue also shared her excitement over Alison joining the show, saying: "I think it'll be fantastic, not only because of her character and her personality, but I like the fact she’s a woman.

"I love Matt Lucas and I'm sure we'll be friends for life, but when there were three men and me, because there were numbers of them, they just got sillier and sillier and I never understand the jokes."

Noel teased that he and Alison are going to "spend the whole time giggling like naughty school kids", while Kieran Smith of Love Productions praised Alison's hosting skills and said she has "already proved herself to be a natural on Bake Off."

The Great British Bake Off airs on Channel 4 in the UK. In the US, it's known as The Great British Baking Show, and streams on Netflix.
