First, it was Regé-Jean Page. And now, Phoebe Dynevor has bad news for Bridgerton fans.

The 27-year-old actress recently shared details about Bridgerton season 3, which will focus on the romance between Penelope Featherington (Nicola Coughlan) and Colin Bridgerton (Luke Newton). During a recent interview with Screen Rant, Dynevor revealed that her character, Daphne, won’t appear in the upcoming season.

When asked if Daphne will have a major story line in Bridgerton season 3, Dynevor said, “Sadly, not in season three. Potentially in the future. But season three, I’m just excited to watch as a viewer.”

Although Daphne was a pivotal character, fans shouldn’t be too surprised by Dynevor’s involvement (or lack thereof). Each Bridgerton season has focused on a different sibling, and since Daphne’s story was explored in season one, she won’t be the show’s focus anymore.

Netflix hasn’t shared too many details about Bridgerton season 3, excluding small casting announcements. The streaming service previously revealed that Hannah New (Black Sails) will join the cast as a widow named Lady Tilley Arnold. Daniel Francis (Liasion), Sam Phillips (The Crown) and James Phoon (Wreck) will also star as potential new love interests.

Other returning cast members will include Claudia Jessie (Eloise), Golda Rosheuvel (Queen Charlotte), Nicola Coughlan (Penelope Featherington), Adjoa Andoh (Lady Danbury), Ruth Gemmell (Lady Violet Bridgerton) and Polly Walker (Lady Portia Featherington).

Now all we need is for Netflix to announce a premiere date for Bridgerton season 3.
