Approximately 42 minutes after I talk to Tyler Cameron on the phone (a call he had to move around a few times do to his busy schedule), he unexpectedly appears in our office with a tray of tacos. "I...brought you guys a present," he says to the floor at large, gesturing vaguely to the food he's brought and also to himself. "Happy National Taco Day."

None of this has anything to do with the 12-minute conversation we'd just had (that was meant to circle largely around his work with the ABC Food Tours and his eating habits in general), but dude's busy. He's gotta squeeze in time to talk about the projects happening in between his projects somewhere!

Not knowing he's set to wander Hearst Tower soon with 10.15 a.m. sustenance, but knowing he's very busy right now, we jump right in: Why are the food tours he's touting on Instagram so important to him? Not only because he's been involved with the organization from "day one," but because bringing food and new experiences to kids in some of Manhattan's underserved communities has become "what [Tyler looks] forward to the most" amidst all the post-Bachelorette craziness.

"I try to pay it forward as much as possible," he says. As we speak, he's working on new, unspecified ways to raise money for both the charity and the kids it serves.

As far as more personal projects, Tyler had been marathon training for his October 13th marathon in Chicago, which involved lots of 20-mile runs and lots of post-20-mile run "indulgences." He'd been eating a lot of cookies while working on this and points to Levain, Counter Culture Coffee cookies, and the Insomnia Cookie ice cream sandwich as some of his favs.

Our time is almost up. Did I mention Tyler is busy? OK, OK, just a few more food-related questions really quickly!! I re-arrange my questions in order of what I think is highest-to-lowest priority.

Firstly, does he eat food on dates? There was so much talk this past Paradise season of whether or not you should eat on dates. The quick answer is: "I'm smacking food on a date, no doubt. But also, I want to know if a girl likes to eat, too, you know?"

Secondly, what the hell with all the chicken nuggets?? Another rapid-fire response. "Hannah just loves chicken nuggets, so all the guys started to love chicken nuggets, I guess. John Paul Jones definitely loves them, that's for sure."

Thirdly, and I assume least importantly, what's his Pub Sub order? For those who aren't aware of the phenomenon that is a sub from the Southern grocery store chain Publix, people who grew up with them are o b s e s s e d and take the personalization of their Pub Sub orders very seriously.

I hear Tyler halt. "That's the best question I've ever gotten," he enunciates. (H/T my co-worker Maddie, who is from Florida, fed me the question ahead of time, and cared about the answer to it very much.)

For this, I do not get a quick or a short answer. I get a stream of consciousness with no hesitation. A wondrous and nostalgic word vomit:

Buffalo chicken. But you've got to make sure they put the chicken in the bag and then cut it up, mix it with ranch or ranch in buffalo sauce. I actually grew up doing blue cheese. My taste palate has improved. So, blue cheese and buffalo, and then you throw it back in the sandwich. So cheese on blue cheese. Then I put bacon, the cheese on top of it, toasted, and put more sauce on top. And that's how you do it. My ladies at my pub know what's up.

He laughs, transported. Or maybe he's juust excited to juggle tacos? Either way, our time is up, and I guess I'll see him soon.
