The Bachelorette's Rachel Lindsay celebrates Birthday with fiance Bryan Abasolo at SugarHouse Casino on April 21, 2018.

The Bachelorette star Rachel Lindsay and her husband, Bryan Abasolo, have decided to go their separate ways.

Abasolo filed to end the couple’s marriage after four years citing "irreconcilable differences," and is, additionally, requesting spousal support, according to the legal documents. The pair have been living separately for a while.

The former couple wed in Mexico in August 2019, after meeting on Season 13 of the reality dating show, separating on the last day of 2023—New Year's Eve, Sunday, Dec. 31—according to the legal filing. They never welcomed any children together.

Parade has reached out to Lindsay and Abasolo's reps for comment.

Abasolo also confirmed the news via Instagram, posting a lengthy note on the social media platform on Tuesday, Dec. 2.

"If you've been following me for a while, you know I don't like to put my personal affairs on social media and like to keep a safe space for our family," he wrote. "Many of you know me as a chiropractor, and also as a husband, my proudest role so far."

However, as Bryan noted, he and Rachel made the "difficult decision" to "part ways and start anew."

"My parents have been married forever and I'm a family man," he continued, "but sometimes loving yourself and your partner means you must let go."

Lindsay—who made history as the first Black person to lead any iteration of ABC’s reality dating franchise when the season aired in 2017—spoke about her relationship with the chiropractor during an interview on fellow former Bachelorette star Kaitlyn Bristowe’s “Off the Vine” podcast.

“When we came off the show, you feel the pressure of having to show people how we’re doing,” the attorney and TV personality said in August, while explaining that she and the doctor have kept their romance more private in recent years.

“There were months that went by where Bryan and I didn’t post and everyone assumed that we were breaking up. They were counting how long it had been since we posted each other and how long it had been since we liked each other’s posts,” she said at the time. “I don’t even pay attention to that stuff, I’m too present in real life. I’m a terrible social media person."

Additionally, she had admitted to wanting to start a family with her estranged husband. “I hope for kids. I hope that we work less. Bryan has his own practice here in LA. He’s by himself, so he’s working super long days,” she said.

Continuing, Lindsay added, “Now I’m in a very lost phase, a bit of a transition phase. I hope that we have kids and we are working now for something bigger."
