The Bachelorette Star Mike Johnson Asked Keke Palmer on a Date and She Turned It Into a Meme

Don't bother women at work!!!

The Bachelorette’s Mike Johnson is receiving some criticism after asking Keke Palmer out on a date live during a segment of Strahan, Sara and Keke on Good Morning America.

Mike, who rose to popularity after appearing on Hannah Brown’s season of The Bachelorette and later on Bachelor in Paradise, stopped by the program to talk about why he wasn’t cast as the next Bachelor and what happened with his seemingly budding romance with Demi Lovato.

After discussing his relationship with the “Sorry Not Sorry” singer — which the reality star deemed “too public” — Mike proceeded to not-so-swiftly ask Keke out on a date. "I made a mistake. I don't like dating in public but…if I were to ask you if we could go on a date…" Mike said, in public.

Keke seemed visibly startled by the sudden question and managed to steer clear of it. “What’s the next question?” the Hustlers actor asked her cohost Michael Strahan, promptly moving the conversation forward. “Ladies, I'm at work. I'm at work, guys. Go ahead. I'm at work," she later added.

Following the interaction, some fans found Mike’s action uncalled for and took to Twitter to call out him out for putting Keke on the spot on live TV. “Mike Johnson givin’ off the big red flags right now. I feel sorry for Keke, being put on the spot like that,” someone commented after seeing the clip. TV personality Heather Gardner added, "I know this was supposed to be a cute moment and all, but when will these men stop embarrassing women at work?"

Like the meme queen she is, Keke took the opportunity to turn the situation around and gift us with another relatable meme — this time around, started by herself on Twitter. And while she did not spare any details on how the situation made her feel, her post truly says it all.
