Bachelorette Rachel Lindsay Tells Us New Details About Planning Her Wedding to Bryan Abasolo

Rachel Lindsay is at the beginning stretch of the long journey toward her wedding day (to Bachelorette season 13 winner Bryan Abasolo). But to hear her tell it, the Dallas native isn’t sweatin’ the small stuff just yet.

“I haven’t even picked out a city yet, much less a venue!” she exclusively tells The Knot. “Dallas, Miami, Colombia—they all sound wonderful. I’m ready now [to get married], but we’re waiting til next year. Maybe a spring wedding!”

Lindsay, 32, who picked Abasolo, 37, out of two dozen or so suitors on the last season of The Bachelorette, said that the first step she’s taken so far is meeting with a wedding planner to help her get started. Recently, the reality personality even collaborated with Vow to Be Chic to create a signature bridesmaid dress, a curated Monique Lhuillier gown with a “beautiful, full skirt” and fun cutouts on the front and the back of the bodice.

Beyond that, the former Bachelorette has also partially picked out her squad—“My sisters will definitely be my bridesmaids,” she says. “Their presence on the big day is going to bring me to tears!”—the bride has started thinking about what she’ll be wearing as she walks down the aisle.

Perhaps unsurprisingly, just like the bride-to-be herself, not all of Lindsay’s ideas are traditional.

“A jumpsuit or pantsuit could be fun and nontraditional,” she says. “I think it makes a bold statement. It’s strong, bold, and sexy. I think I can still come across as soft with makeup, dainty jewelry, and my hair pulled back with soft curls hanging down. I’ve also seen these gorgeous pieces that have a full skirt for the ceremony, but the skirt is detachable, so by the reception you can wear a jumpsuit! Perfect for the dance floor.”

What she’s most excited about, Lindsay says, is finally getting to exchange vows with Abasolo, whom she calls “the most understanding, patient, sincere man I know.”

“I’ve learned that he is everything he says that he is,” she says. “He is focused and passionate. He is honest and endearing. I’ve never met a man like him. He truly makes me better.”
