Attention Bachelor fans!! The franchise just made a *huge* announcement in light of the ongoing racism controversy. Chris Harrison will not host the next season of The Bachelorette. Instead, former Bachelorettes Tayshia Adams and Kaitlyn Bristowe will be tasked with guiding the new lead and contestants and acting as the in-between for the audience and stars.

“We support Chris in the work that he is committed to doing. In his absence, former Bachelorettes Tayshia Adams and Kaitlyn Bristowe will support the new Bachelorette through next season,” Warner Horizon and ABC Entertainment's statement read. “As we continue the dialogue around achieving greater equity and inclusion within The Bachelor franchise, we are dedicated to improving the BIPOC representation of our crew, including among the executive producer ranks. These are important steps in effecting fundamental change so that our franchise is a celebration of love that is reflective of our world.”

A statement from ABC was loooong overdue. Once screenshots of Rachael Kirkconnell (one of Matt James’s contestants) at an antebellum-themed plantation party in 2018 resurfaced, a series of events were put in motion. First, Chris Harrison defended Rachael’s actions during an interview with former Bachelorette Rachel Lindsay. Then Chris faced backlash resulting in him making a statement and eventually announcing that he’s “stepping aside for a period of time” from the Bachelor franchise.

It was later announced that Emmanuel Acho is going to hostAfter the Final Rose.” Now it’s unknown if Chris will ever return to the franchise. It seems like his time as host might be over, which isn’t the worst thing, IMO. A new host, or in this case hosts, will give the long-running series a fresh start and, I don’t know, help right a lot of wrongs when it comes to discrimination and a lack of inclusion within the series.

Plus, Tayshia and Kaitlyn? They’re gonna kill it as hosts.
