The Bachelorette’s suitors were forced to choose between Gabby Windey and Rachel Recchia on Monday night’s drama-packed third episode.

And it culminated in a hot mess of a rose ceremony!

Season 19 is the first of the hit ABC reality show in which two women look for love.

As the episode began, 21 guys still remained in the competition for Gabby and Rachel. But the gals wanted to figure out which of them the men really preferred.

Who got Rachel’s second one-on-one date?

Rachel chose tech exec Zach S., after she had sent home her first exclusive date, Jordan V., last week.

They met outside of a hotel where Queer Eye star Karamo Brown served them champagne.

Meanwhile, Gabby, 31, visited the other guys at the mansion but was disappointed when they tossed a football around instead of chatting.

Gabby sighed to the cameras, “I’m giving so much to them and they’re not giving everything back.”

“The people that I wanted to love me, didn’t,” the ICU nurse added with tears in her eyes.

Zach and Rachel, 26, walked a theater red carpet at a “movie premiere,” which actually turned into a private viewing of photos and video from their childhoods.

After seeing a clip of Zach’s mom, Rachel cried, “I feel so much closer to him.”

Zach confided to Rachel, a flight instructor, that his dad had taken him to watch planes take off when he was a kid. Rachel said she’d had a similar experience.

“I think Rachel could be my future wife,” emotional Zach said in confessional. “I’m falling for her really hard.”

They kissed and she awarded him her date rose in the theater.

Rachel sobbed to cameras that it seemed like “unconditional love” with Zach.

Who received Gabby’s second one-on-one date?

Erich S. got the nod, but Gabby also included her irrepressible grandpa, John, on the outing!

The three went to a New Age-y “sound ceremony,” in which they sat in a tent above the Pacific Ocean, burned incense, and set personal “intentions.”

Their next stop was a bowling alley, where Gabby and Erich smooched and she raved that the real estate analyst was “really easy to be around.”

But later, with grandpa gone, Gabby showed she wasn’t!

Over dinner, Erich told Gabby how much he admired his parents’ solid marriage, while she broke down about her own mother.

Gabby said her mom had “wiped her hands clean” of their relationship.

The bachelorette cried as she confided, “I’ll maybe never know what it’s like to have a mother’s love,” then excused herself from the dinner table!

Gabby asked the producers privately, “Am I too broken for anyone to love?”

She sobbed that she might be “too complicated” compared to co-star Rachel and questioned her Bachelorette participation.

After returning to the table, she thanked Erich for being there and admitted “I have such a severely emotional side.”

Erich insisted, “I really like you…I’m here to see where this goes,” and Gabby responded by climbing into his lap for a makeout session. She also gave him her date rose.

Later, Gabby and Rachel hosted the rest of the guys in the biggest Bachelorette group date ever.

They donned wacky outfits for a photo shoot, with some competitors dressing as little kids, cowboys, and hospital patients.

Buff Jacob only had a fig leaf to cover his private parts!

Pretend marriage proposals ensued, and the group date continued at L.A.’s SoFi football stadium, where Rachel shared one-on-one time and kisses with Aven and Tino.

But Gabby continued her bad week as Tyler told her he felt connected only to Rachel!

Then Hayden dissed Gabby, too, noting, “I looked at…my own life and what my values line up with and I do have my intentions fully for Rachel.

“You’re a little bit more…rough around the edges.”

Gabby moaned in confessional that it was hard to hear “Hayden tells me his morals are more aligned with Rachel and being called rough around the edges like that definitely hurts. That is my fear.”

Jacob also gave Gabby bad news. “Even if you were the only person here, I don’t think I could have the heart to continue,” he said.

Insulted Gabby raged to the cameras, “Because I’m different, they don’t want to be with me.”

She added defiantly, “I know who I am on the inside and I’m f---ing proud of it!”

Who got Rachel’s group date rose?

Rachel gave hers to Aven after they’d shared some electricity on the football field.

Who got Gabby’s group date rose?

Nobody! Incredibly, Gabby told the stunned group she’d had a hard week “so I feel like I can’t give a rose tonight.”

Later, Gabby confided to Rachel how Hayden and Jacob had hurt her.

Rachel was outraged—while Hayden admitted to the guys he had told Gabby he preferred her co-star.

Who got sent home in the rose ceremony?

Host Jesse Palmer told the men that the ladies had canceled the cocktail party and they’d go right to the ceremony.

He said that Gabby and Rachel had decided to pursue separate journeys on the show, with one group for each gal.

“If you accept a rose tonight that means you are committed to dating one woman, that woman that offers the rose that you accept, and not the other,” Jesse said.

With Zach and Aven already safe with roses from Rachel, and Erich from Gabby, there were 18 men left in contention.

Gabby told the dudes that she’d had some “hurtful” conversations that had changed everything.

But it was Rachel who suddenly felt the burn!

While Tino and Logan accepted Rachel’s roses, her third pick, Termayne, said, “I am going to have to decline the rose,” feeling more pull toward Team Gabby.

Host Jesse said they would put Termayne back in the group to see if Gabby picked him.

Rachel noted, “It was so embarrassing,” but things got worse when Alec also rejected her rose. However, Tyler, Ethan, and Jordan H., accepted.

But James, known as “Meatball,” became the third guy to turn Rachel down, saying, “I’m here for Gabby. I have to go with my heart.”

Meanwhile, all of Gabby’s picks accepted her roses—Nate, Johnny, Spencer, Jason, Mario, Kirk, Quincey, and Michael.

Rachel awarded her final rose of the night to Hayden.

That meant four men—Termayne H., Alec G., James “Meatball” C., and Fabio wannabe Jacob R.—were going home with 17 continuing.

Rachel felt “so bad and rejected” after the ceremony, while Gabby was elated.

But during the credits, there was a final twist when Meatball, who had rejected Rachel’s rose, came back to beg her to give him another chance! As the episode ended, Rachel hadn’t answered the Italian food dude.
