Bachelorette Tayshia Adams is cruising along on her journey to fall in love at La Quinta. Will she find her happily-ever-after with one of her remaining husband-hopefuls? The jury is still out on that one, but there are some clear frontrunners and fan faves working hard for her heart.

One to watch is Ben Smith, 30. After Tayshia took charge, Ben started to get a lot more screen time—and for all the right reasons. The fitness buff and former Army Ranger appears to be gaining steam and steering clear of the drama around the resort. So far, Ben has found sweet ways to show up for Tayshia (sans clothes even!). He also celebrated the big 3-0 while filming, so get excited.

But, there's so much more to know about this hunky Midwestern dude. Here, get to know The Bachelorette contestant Ben Smith:

Ben is a military veteran.

He graduated from West Point and The United States Army Ranger School, according to his ABC bio, and served in the Army and became a Ranger. He left active duty after breaking his back. (Details on that and his recovery are scarce.) But, he turned his attention to his interest in fitness, health, and nutrition.

Ben has shared throwback photos from Afghanistan and reminisces about lessons he learned on active duty.

The last few years have been tough for Ben.

He revealed a bit about his past struggle with an eating disorder during week eight, but has more time to open up to Tayshia and share what he's endured in week nine, according to Reality Steve.

Ben explains how he had to start a new life after breaking his back, and it was a very low time for him.

Ben's family, especially his sister, helped him through it.

Ben shows all the love to his family. In fact, he's super close to his sister, Madalyn, who's always been there for him. He wrote on one Instagram post: "I love MY SISTER. Bless."

Ben has also shared birthday shout-outs and goofy pictures.

And added a sweet tribute to his mom, Julie Smith.

Btw, Ben's sister, Madalyn, is a nurse, and they work out together. She's shared a few pics with other members of the Smith fam, too.

Beyond that, Ben doesn't post much about his personal life. But, he's into writing love letters to his S.O. and grand gestures like flying cross-country for a meet-up, according to his ABC bio.

Ben works as a personal trainer in Venice Beach, CA.

Ben's Bachelorette bio shares his basic job info. If you take a scroll through his social media, it's also crystal clear working out is a major part of his life. He's a coach at Bodybuilding Club, where the motto is "Join the club, get to work, and Stay Huge." He also works for Deuce Gym, and you can check out his journey in the Youtube video below:

Apparently, Ben's got some smooth moves outside of the gym, too. "She also must be able to keep up with him on the dance floor or at least be willing to cheer him on when he jumps in the middle of a dance battle to show off some of his winning moves," his ABC bio reads.

Ben loves dogs.

Plus, Ben passes the "must love dogs" test with flying colors, if that's important to you. I mean, he really loves them.

And, it's absolutely adorable.

Naturally, the pups love him right back.

He's also a pretty funny dude.

Ben's not afraid to make fun of himself. Case in point, this POV post on Insta.

And, FWIW, he also dressed up as Kim Kardashian in a bikini.

And, Ben likes to eat bagels.

And share all the photographic evidence.

This is one dude who's not afraid of carbs.

He used to sport a mustache.

Unlike Noah, Ben took care of the facial hair sitch on his own before arriving in Palm Springs. (Bless.)

Overall, Ben's a chill guy.

As in can hang in an ice bath level of cool. Btw, the frozen bathing ritual is his "favorite indulgence."

Tbd what SoCal Tayshia thinks of an ice bath.

So, does Ben win Tayshia's heart?

SPOILER ALERT: DO NOT CONTINUE READING IF YOU DO NOT WANT TO KNOW WHAT HAPPENS ON TAYSHIA'S FINALE...

Tayshia is pretty into Ben, and he makes it all the way to the finale. But, ultimately Tayshia doesn't give Ben the final rose and chooses Zac Clark instead. Ben comes in second, so you know he's likely single these days.

It's too early to tell where Ben's Bachelor career could go from here (cough Bachelor In Paradise cough), but he's giving off some major Ben Higgins vibes. It's safe to say Bachelor Nation likely hasn't seen the last of him.
