Who Will Be the Bachelorette in 2020? The 5 Most Likely Fan Theories

Whether or not anyone accepts Pete Weber’s rose in the Bachelor finale, someone is waiting in the wings to take his place in the spotlight this spring as the Bachelorette.

So who will the lucky lady be? Usually, the Bachelorette is chosen from the Bachelor’s latest rejects, but could a familiar face return for another shot? According to a fan theory that’s causing a ruckus among Bachelor Nation, it’s possible.

Here are all the best theories going around online about who will be the next Bachelorette.

Kelsey Weier

Think of all the great Champagne-gate related promos ABC would gift us with! Kelsey Weier’s drama this season was a lot more harmless than, let’s say, Victoria Fuller’s, so the powers that be could very well choose the Iowa native for the top spot. Bach Nation alum Ashley Iaconetti told Life and Style magazine that Kelsey is “100% ready.”

Reality Steve suggested that her appearance on the pretaped Women Tell All episode felt like an “audition” that concluded with Bach Nation alum Ashley Iaconetti presenting her with a giant bottle of Champagne. Cheers?

Kelley Flanagan

Kelley Flanagan made it to the top five and is beloved by viewers, two important factors that influence the choice of the next lead in the franchise. Also, her one-liners were the stuff of legends. “Thank you for not coming and meeting my family,” she said after her elimination. Iconic. Even Peter says she’d be a good choice. “Kelley is so ready, Kelley is one of the smartest people I’ve met. [She has] such a strong presence,” he told Entertainment Tonight. “I definitely had questions at first if she was really ready and wanted this. I was wrong, she truly was. I think she can absolutely make an amazing [Bachelorette].”

Interestingly, one Reddit theory suggests that the Bachelor producers may have plotted against her for Bachelorette by giving her a “bad edit” in her elimination episode. “The producers noticed that everyone on social media was rooting for Kelley to become the bachelorette, and they obviously don’t want her to be since they can’t control her like the rest,” the user wrote. “So, they decide to give her the worst edit on the last episode so a) people stop rooting for as the bachelorette and b) so Peter doesn’t look like the idiot he is for sending her home.”

Rumors that she wasn’t invited to Women Tell All are reportedly true, according to Reality Steve, which means fans may be onto something

“If you finished 5th & you were popular on the season, & you don’t get invited to WTA, it means they didn’t like her. No other reason,” he said.

Hannah Ann Sluss or Madison Prewett

At this point it seems highly likely that one of these ladies will take home the final rose (and a Neil Lane engagement ring). It just depends which fan-fueled rumor you find more believable. Some believe recent Instagram comments by Hannah Ann Sluss about moving to L.A. mean that she gets the final rose, while others think Peter will choose Madison Prewett. Pick your poison!

Either way, fans seem to be pulling for a Madison-led Bachelorette over Hannah Ann.

Unfortunately, it seems like neither frontrunner is going to be the Bachelorette, though. Why not? News broke today that the Bachelorette will be revealed on Good Morning America on Monday, March 2.

If Hannah Ann or Madison (or even Victoria, I guess) were to appear, that would be a huge spoiler for the Bachelor finale. ABC is not going to do that.

Hannah Brown—again

While Chris Harrison is “not against it,” it looks as though all hope that Hannah Brown might get a second (third?) chance at finding love through Bachelor Nation is gone. According to a new Instagram post from the official Dancing With the Stars account, the former Bachelorette will be touring with the live show at the same time that The Bachelorette typically films.

Hannah Brown, who won this past season of DWTS, will be joining the 2020 tour as a “special guest” from March 24 to 29. The Bachelorette usually starts filming in March. Still, most of these performances are in L.A. Perhaps she could do both?

Still, the fan favorite was reportedly ABC's top choice. According to Reality Steve, the only thing getting between Alabama Hannah and the Bachelor Mansion is cold, hard cash. "They couldn’t agree on money, apparently, and she’s out unless something drastic happens," Steve claimed on February 26. "That’s the latest I have on The Bachelorette. A decision should be made within the next week or so on who they end up choosing."

...Clare Crowley?

Uh...sure? Clare was the runner-up on Juan Pablo Galavis's season of The Bachelor and has appeared on BIP and the Bachelor Winter Games. According to a fan post on Instagram, the Bach Nation alum will be surprised with the offer on The Ellen DeGeneres Show next week.

According to Reality Steve, however, the claim is relatively unfounded. "I have no idea who this person is, why they’re reporting it, or if it’s even true," he said in a tweet. "This was the first I’d heard of it. Guess we’ll see."
