Bachelor In Paradise Fans Want a Castaways Crossover

Viewers still nursing a Bachelorette hangover didn't get much time to recuperate. Less than 24 hours after Becca Kufrin said yes to her Neil Lane sparkler, ABC unleashed the newest season of Bachelor in Paradise. While fans have been satisfied to have a slew of spin-offs to sate their Bachelor addiction (with the main show, The Bachelorette, Winter Games, and Bachelor in Paradise), some Bachelor Nation devotees can't get enough. Their suggestion? Taking something they already love, like BiP, and mashing it up with one of ABC's new shows, Castaways.

For anyone unfamiliar with the network's upcoming reality show, Castaways puts 12 normal folks on a remote Indonesian island together. The hope is that they'll discover themselves in that idyllic solitude while they're fending for themselves. Think: Naked & Afraid, minus being naked and afraid, but with all of the stunning vistas and personal discovery. The contestants don't know where each other are, so they can either look for help or go it solo. Yes, there's a dash of Lost in there and no, it's probably not a coincidence.
Why didn't ABC mash up #BachelorInParadise #BIP and #Castaways?? Now THAT would be good tv

Sound familiar? On Paradise, Bachelor and Bachelorette castoff are on their own kind of personal journey. And while those shows are a bit more lighthearted—Castaways involves its participants dealing with personal demons like addiction and family strife—it's not hard to imagine jilted lovers trying to survive on a deserted island or the drama that would come with it.
Sure, Bachelor in Paradise is as much about eye candy as it is about rooting for shunned suitors to hit it off, but toss in the intrigue that comes with the possibility of heat stroke and dehydration and viewers will really see what the contestants are made of.
Every time the castaways commercial come on I weirdly think it’s #BachelorInParadise for a solid 5 seconds until I realize oh they are stranded on a deserted island not by choice ????????

Some viewers actually mixed up the promos for the two shows, so ABC is sitting on a huge opportunity for synergy. For a company that loves crossovers—just take a look at the Marvel Cinematic Universe and the network's Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. in addition to the Bachelor shows—it's only a matter of time before familiar faces get put into some unfamiliar surroundings.
