'Bachelor' Joey Graziadei Stuns Audience With Comments About Kathie Lee Gifford

This year's Bachelor, Joey Graziadei, is putting his foot in his mouth left and right.

His most recent faux pas came during a recent interview on Live With Kelly and Mark, where he admitted he had "no idea" who former television host Kathie Lee Gifford is after discussing the possibility of her becoming the first-ever Golden Bachelorette.

“I will be honest—I have no idea who Kathie Lee Gifford is,” he confessed, only to be met with horrified gasps and shocked groans from the audience. “I’m only 28!" he defended in response, struggling to be heard over the raucous response. "I’m sorry!”

While viewers had some big feelings over Graziadei's lack of pop culture knowledge, Gifford was rather forgiving, taking to Twitter after the fact to try and calm everyone down.

"I don’t expect him to know me," she wrote. "I’ve got shoes that are older than this kid is!”

Gifford, of course, spent 15 years hosting Live! alongside Regis Philbin before joining Hoda Kotb on the Today Show's fourth hour.

Graziadei also ruffled some feathers while playing a quiz game with Betches, when he managed to mix up the late Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg and Munchausen by proxy victim Gypsy Rose Blanchard. 

He was shown a photo of the young woman, where he declared, “I do know who this person is,” before asking, “Is it Ruth? Ginsburg? Something like that. Am I wrong?”

He did recognize Blanchard to some degree, adding, “I know that she had something happen where she went to jail because of her mom,” but names are clearly not his forte.

He later visited the White House, where press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre led him to a photo of Justice Ginsburg.

“I’m so sorry,” he said as Jean-Pierre laughed. “I knew that that wasn’t actually her in the photo,” he suggested before admitting that he'll never "live that one down.”
