Bachelor stars Arie Luyendyk Jr. and Lauren Burnham’s relationship didn’t exactly get off to the smoothest start. Arie initially chose to propose to another woman, Becca Kufrin, on his season of The Bachelor. Then he changed his mind, broke off their engagement, and went back to Lauren. That’s not a great start, but it looks like Arie and Lauren have been together ever since they got engaged on the “After the Final Rose” special.

On Saturday, Arie and Lauren shared that they’ve had engagement photos taken by photographer Jennifer Perkins. In the pictures the couple shared on Instagram, the two of them are smiling wide and look so much in love.

Lauren posted a sweet message about Arie in her Instagram caption, writing that he has “been the biggest blessing in my life every single day.” In that photo, Lauren grasps Arie’s face in a tender embrace as he kisses her forehead.

In the photo Arie shared, he and Lauren are laughing while sitting in a field. Arie wrote in his Instagram caption that the two of them are now “one step closer to the wedding,” since they’ve had engagement pictures taken.

As both of the Bachelor stars pointed out in their Instagram posts, their wedding is less than six months away. Arie and Lauren’s wedding will be on Jan. 12, and they’re getting hitched in Maui. Don’t expect to be able to see the ceremony, though. The couple shared on The View that they want a small celebration, with around 100 guests, and they don’t want it to be televised.

Lauren has also moved to Arie’s home state of Arizona, and the two of them recently bought a house together. Arie originally sent Lauren home from The Bachelor, but it seems like these days, their relationship is going strong.

It looks like life off-camera has been good for the two of them — but if it weren’t for The Bachelor, Arie and Lauren probably wouldn’t have met each other in the first place. The show has its faults, and Arie’s season was definitely a controversial one, but it does look like the two of them have found true love.
