“The Blacklist” (NBC)

Back for season six, the premiere kicks off with Raymond “Red” Reddington (James Spader) teaching a group of inept robbers how to make a clean getaway.

“The Bachelor” (ABC)

Flash back to season 14 of The Bachelorette when you first met Colton Underwood, the dashing dude who spoke candidly about his virginity. Enter season 23 of The Bachelor—and he’s the man on deck. 

“Schooled” (ABC)

Set in the 1990s, this show follows a high school principal who is leading a group of faculty with wildly different views on how to teach. (Jane the Virgin’s Brett Dier also stars.)

“Brooklyn Nine-Nine” (NBC)

THANK YOU, NBC, for saving this show. The new season picks up right where we left off: Jake (Andy Samberg) and Amy (Melissa Fumero) are married; Captain Holt (Andre Braugher) may or may not be accepting the police commissioner job, plus a zillion more hijinks from the crew of the 99.

"The Big Bang Theory" (CBS)

It's the final hurrah for this long-adored sitcom after Sheldon (Jim Parsons) announced he won't return for a 13th season. (VHS theories and Fortnite competitions abound.)

“Fam” (CBS)

Clem (Nina Dobrev) is living a picture-perfect life with her fiancé until her 16-year-old train wreck of a half sister (Odessa Adlon) shows up on her doorstep and derails everything.

"True Detective" (HBO)

Premiere Date: January 13

After a blockbuster first season (and a lackluster second), the detective series is back, this time starring Mahershala Ali (of Moonlight fame) with a plot set deep in the heart of the Ozarks—and a crime that unfolds in three separate time periods.

“The Passage” (FOX)

Premiere Date: January 14

Based on Justin Cronin’s trilogy of the same name, this series is about FBI agent Brad Wolgast (played by Mark-Paul Gosselaar) and a secret medical facility—called Project Noah—where scientists experiment with a dangerous virus that could do one of two things: a) cure all diseases or b) wipe out the human race. 

“Roswell, New Mexico” (The CW)

Premiere Date: January 15, 2019

When the daughter of undocumented immigrants (played by Jeanine Mason) returns to her hometown of Roswell, she is shocked to discover her teenage crush (Nathan Parsons) is an alien with unearthly superpowers.

"This Is Us" (NBC)

Premiere Date: January 15

After a brief winter hiatus, the Pearson family is back—Milo Ventimiglia included. (In flashbacks, OK?)

"Riverdale" (The CW)

Premiere Date: January 16

Who's the Gargoyle King? Will Veronica and Archie reunite? Guys, we have so many questions for when this show—halfway through season three—picks back up this month.

“Carmen Sandiego” (Netflix)

Premiere Date: January 18

Gina Rodriguez lends her voice to this animated reboot of the beloved kids’ series about international thief Carmen Sandiego. (She’ll also star in a live-action feature film, due to be released later in the year.)

“Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt” (Netflix)

Premiere Date: January 18

It’s the final season of the hit (and alarmingly dark) comedy. In it, Kimmy (Ellie Kemper) gets the Sliding Doors treatment—as in, what would her life have been like if she had never been kidnapped and held in a bunker all those years in the first place?

“Black Monday” (Showtime)

Premiere Date: January 20

This dark comedy—set in the ’80s—stars Don Cheadle, Andrew Rannells, Regina Hall and Paul Scheer and is about the years leading up to the stock market crash in October 1987. (Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg co-produce.)

"Shameless" (Showtime)

Premiere Date: January 20

Debbie (Emma Kenney) fell in love with a girl, Carl (Ethan Cutkosky) trained to enter West Point, Frank (William H. Macy) tried campaign management—then the show took a break. Now, the Gallagher clan returns and the countdown is on to say goodbye to Emmy Rossum. (It's her last season!)

"Will and Grace" (NBC)

Premiere Date: January 31

After a December cliff-hanger that had Will (Eric McCormack) seeking Jack's (Sean Hayes) advice for landing a handsome TV news anchor and Grace (Debra Messing) tracking down photos of her ex having an affair, the entire cast—Megan Mullally, too—is all back for the second half of season two. 

“Russian Doll” (Netflix)

Premiere Date: February 1

Natasha Lyonne plays Nadia, the guest of honor at a party who gets caught in a mysterious loop: At the end of the night, she dies—only to wake up the next morning totally unharmed.

“The World’s Best” (CBS)

Premiere Date: February 3

Drew Barrymore, James Corden, RuPaul and Faith Hill co-host this global talent competition where acts from every possible genre compete from all around the world.

“Man With a Plan” (CBS)

Joey Tribbiani Matt LeBlanc returns for season three of this sitcom about a stay-at-home dad who is shocked by the antics of his kids when his wife goes back to work.

"The Walking Dead" (AMC)

Premiere Date: February 10

Spoiler alert: Jesus (Tom Payne) is dead. Now there's a new group of foes to contend with, called the Whisperers. This and more when part two of season nine comes back.

“The Umbrella Academy” (Netflix)

Premiere Date: February 15

Originally a graphic novel, this show follows a dysfunctional family (Ellen Page included) with superpowers who have to band together to save the world.

“Proven Innocent” (FOX)

Premiere Date: February 15

After being wrongfully convicted in a murder case that made her a media obsession at the age of 18 and sent her (and her brother) to prison for seven years, Madeline Scott (played by Rachelle Lefevre) is seeking justice at any cost upon her release.

“Whiskey Cavalier” (ABC)

Lauren Cohan and Scott Foley play CIA agents trying to save the world. But they have to survive working together first.
