Why should holiday drinks only be sipped around the holidays? We think we could all use a little cheer early this year, and Bacardí Coquito can complete the job. The ready-to-drink beverage was first introduced last December, but we don’t have to wait for that month again since it’s already popping up on shelves.

Coquito is an egg nog-like drink that originated in Puerto Rico. Bacardí’s take on it combines Puerto Rican white rum, toasted spices, coconut cream, vanilla and cinnamon, so you can think of it as a boozy coconut egg nog. Since the cocktail is already made for you, just open the bottle (preferably after it’s already cold), pour, and drink. The gluten-free beverage has 13% ABV, so sip responsibly.

So how do we know that Barcardí Coquito is already back? Well, I found it at my local liquor store over a week ago! I had to do a double-take, because I was expecting to find it closer to the holidays, if it was coming back at all, that is. So take a look at your liquor store of choice near the rum or coffee-like drinks, like Baileys, and you should find it for around $20. You can also order it online from alcohol services, like Drizly.

You might think that a bottled version of coquito will never compare to the homemade stuff, but you might be pleasantly surprised. When I found the bottle in early October, obviously I had to buy it … and it was gone by the time the weekend was over. Let’s just say that I’ll be loading up on bottles for the holidays with my family (and adding cinnamon sticks to the glasses to make it party-ready!).
