I Babymooned at the Hotel Where Kravis Got Engaged(!) and I'm Back With a Full Review

A stay at the Rosewood Miramar Beach has been on my travel bucket list for years. I'd heard amazing things from the handful of people I know who have been to the property, and, well, the IG pics looked downright magical. That said, it's a super luxe property, and a visit has always felt a bit too extravagant for a quick weekend away, you know? But then my husband and I started scouting out babymoon locations, and...we realized we deserved something a little out of the ordinary.
The Rosewood Miramar Beach felt like the perfect fit for what we wanted: elevated accommodations, fine dining, a world-class spa, and plenty of opps for beach and pool time. So, we booked a stay for three nights back in November, and now I'm gonna tell you all about it. Keep reading for my full review of the hotel, including a breakdown of the rooms, restaurants, amenities, and so much more.

THE FIRST IMPRESSIONS
I was immediately wowed when we pulled up to the Rosewood Miramar Beach. It was instantly clear why Travis Barker and Kourtney Kardashian got engaged there. Unlike a lot of coastal California hotels that feel modern and minimalist, the Rosewood is oozing with old Hollywood glamour. And even though it's situated on a gorgeous stretch of natural beach, with the rugged Santa Ynez mountains in the background, the hotel itself feels quite formal (in a good way). Like, you won't catch anyone walking around the lobby in just a bathing suit and flip-flops. I think that's what makes it special. When you're here, you feel like you're living in a bit of a swanky fantasy land.
THE ROOMS
We stayed in one of the Garden Bungalow Suites, which was the perfect home-away-from-home setup. I'm talking super spacious, super chic, and stocked with Diptyque toiletries, Nespresso coffee, and the softest bedding and robes you may ever have the pleasure of touching. Each suite is designed to be like a little house (which you enter via a private patio), and has a bedroom, exceptionally large bathroom with a massive marble shower and freestanding tub, dressing area, and sitting room with a fireplace and fully stocked bar. I'll take it!
THE AMENITIES
The Rosewood Miramar Beach has allll the amenities you'd expect from a 5-star hotel—including two pools, a gym, a spa, beach access, multiple shopping boutiques, bocce courts, bike rentals, a complimentary local car service, and more—but my favorite was the spa. It's luxe without being stuffy, so you can actually relax, and the treatment menu is 10/10. I spent an entire afternoon there with my husband and we truly felt so pampered and zenned out.
As for the treatments, I tried the pregnancy-safe Signature Extreme 360 Anti-Aging Ritual (try saying that 10 times fast), which included 90 blissful minutes of cleansing, exfoliating, massaging, and masking. My husband tried a newer body treatment called CBD Total Contrast Therapy, which combines hot and cold treatments with a deep tissue massage. It starts with a cold plunge on the spa roof with the views of the mountains, followed by a hot steam/sauna sesh to improve blood circulation and prep your muscles for the massage part. So, basically, I left my facial looking glowy as hell and my husband left his treatment feeling like Jell-O.
THE FOOD AND BEV
You can't stay at this hotel and not eat at Michelin-starred Caruso's. Between the service, the food, and the ocean views, it was hands down the most memorable dining experience I had in all of 2023. The vibes are fancy (so if you plan on eating there, pack your best dinner 'fit) and it feels like a mix of old-school Italian meets modern coastal Cali. The menu is set-up as a prix-fixe, four-course experience, and everything I ordered was exceptional. (My favorite dish was the locally caught Channel Island halibut!) Make sure you time your res so you'll be there for sunset, and ask for a table on the deck (it's heated so you'll be toasty even if the weather is colder) that overlooks the ocean. The view as the sun goes down is something else.
THE BOTTOM LINE
A stay at the Rosewood Miramar Beach is absolutely a splurge, but a worthwhile one if you're celebrating a major life moment (like me 👶!). Everything from the scenery to the service is next level—it's one of those places that sticks with you. Trust.
