"Baby Shark" Becomes First YouTube Video To Hit 10 Billion Views

"Baby Shark" is officially the most viewed video on YouTube, hitting a milestone of 10 billion views. The infectious and viral children's tune from Pinkfong has steadily widened the gap between itself and the No. 2 video on the platform, "Despascito" from Luis Fonsi featuring Daddy Yankee.

In light of the news, CEO of PinkFong Co., creator of "Baby Shark" stated, "We are delighted to announce that our beloved Baby Shark has recorded another remarkable milestone. It has been a truly meaningful journey to witness how Baby Shark has connected people around the world, and we can't wait to introduce Baby Shark's further adventures that will bring unparalleled experiences to even more fans everywhere."

Originally released in June 2016, the viral children's dance video and song hit a peak when it debuted at No. 32 on the Billboard Hot 100 in January 2019. In 2020, it surpassed "Despascito" when it reached 7.04 billion views, claiming the title of the most-viewed YouTube video of all time. In the same month, "Baby Shark" received an 11-times multi-platinum certification from the RIAA. Celebrities across the world have covered the song and shared them on their social media of their children dancing to the song.

The popularity of the song later led to a 100-date tour in 2019 as well as a six-piece NFT collection just last December. As of writing, the video has hit over 10 billion views at 10,0006,234,824 views.
