Baby Archie Just Made His First Appearance on the Family's Royal Tour

When Meghan Markle and Prince Harry revealed the itinerary for their royal tour, Archie's name was noticeably absent from the schedule—but the royal couple assured fans that they still "hoped to include" their baby in the tour. "It’s just difficult to schedule because he’s five months old," a royal source explained.

But now—much to the delight of royal watchers—they've made good on their promise. Archie just appeared on the Sussexes' Instagram account in a video with the caption "Arch meets Archie."

In the sweet clip, you can hear Harry and Meghan speaking to their baby, saying "You get to meet Arch," referring, of course to Archbishop Desmond Tutu.

It's unclear if this is the only appearance Archie will make, or if fans can look forward to seeing him again in South Africa. (While Prince Harry will travel to Malawi, Angola, and Botswana, Meghan and the baby will stay behind in South Africa, eventually reuniting with him on October 2.)

Back when the news first broke that Harry and Meghan would be traveling to Africa, it wasn't a sure bet that Archie would come along at all. But a few hints—such as the couple disclosing on Instagram that it would "be their first official tour as a family"—made royal watchers hopeful.

Finally, it was revealed that Archie would come, but only to South Africa. "As [Prince Harry] will be traveling in small aircraft, it's been decided it was not suitable for baby Archie," an ITV report explained at the time. It was also recently confirmed that the couple would be taking a nanny on tour, to help with the couple's months-old child.

Even if he's not traveling to every country on the schedule, fans are no doubt pleased that Archie's made the trip overseas.
