American rapper Azealia Banks was blasted with negative comments last month after she admitted to loving a skin-whitening product.

Now the 25-year-old has hit back at her haters in a Facebook Live video in which she talks about skin bleaching during a bizarre 21-minute rant.

In the video, Azealia defends her decision, likening it to a nose job or hair extensions. She then reiterates her opinion in a comment underneath the video.

“There’s no difference between a hair relaxer and skin lightening cream. All of you women on this post are wearing weaves but that would never lead me to assume that you hated yourself or hate your own hair. It’s not fair to pin “self-hate” on me,” she wrote.

In the video, Banks says that nobody cared when she got 30-inch weaves, and asks what the difference is between getting a nose job and changing your skin color.

The singer says there is a stigma around skin bleaching, as she considers anything that says it illuminates or brightens your skin bleach.

Banks is no novice to public controversy. In April, she spoke out against Beyoncé’s new Lemonade album, and in May, she was axed from a festival after posting racist tweets accusing Zayn Malik of ripping off her music.

After her most recent video rant — in which she addresses the cultural significance of skin bleaching — many commenters have accused the rapper of not making any sense.

There have been mixed reactions since Banks first posted a photo of skin whitening on social media. Watch the full video below.
