Avril Lavigne's added green and black tips to her latest bob haircut
Avril Lavigne is one of the more unexpected stars that has gone with a bob for 2023. What has often been considered the ultimate mum style, this year has reclaimed its place as one of the most stylish options, being donned by everyone from Zendaya, Sarah Michelle Gellar and Hailey Bieber to Emily Ratajowski, Emma Stone and Hillary Duff. And while its comeback has felt swift but seamless, a bob doesn't always shout punk.
With takes like the shaggy wolf haircut and mullet bobs, there are certainly grunge spins to be had, which Avril has highlighted (sorry couldn't help myself) for us with her trademark colour play.
The star posted the black tips in her white blonde bob just last week, and now it appears tinges of radioactive lime green have been added into the mix.

Worn with an exaggerated black liner sweeping down into the inner corner, and an XXL green tee and leather matrix coat, the hair is literally matched to her outfit. Mid-noughties grunge tweens everywhere are being called to do a style overhaul and return to the chipped black polish of our coming of age. Our Converse are itching to be worn with fishnets again instead of ankle crop jeans. No? Just me?

While the tips were not there just a few weeks ago, as seen above, we did spot the black ones in some of her fashion week looks from February, suggesting these may in fact be clip ins, with the newest ones spiced up with the green shade. Now we're thinking not permanent... we're even more tempted to live out our tween dreams.
