Avril Lavigne is one-half of a rumored new celebrity couple. A source told Entertainment Tonight that Lavigne and musician Mod Sun are dating.

"Working together has brought them closer and Avril has a history of falling for people that she works with. She falls in love with them for their musical creativity and expression." The source continued: "Her working relationships often turn romantic. Avril and Mod Sun have been spending a ton of time together and getting to know each other better."

The two collaborated on the song "Flames," which will be featured on Mod Sun's next album. "Sending a huge thank u to everyone who has watched + shared this video over the last week!," Mod Sun wrote on a post about the project. "I've never had a song react this way + it’s really changing a lot of things in my world right now. Hard work pays off but more importantly DREAMS COME TRUE💚."

In the past, Mod Sun has been connected to Bella Thorne, and Lavigne was last with Phillip Sarofim, son of Egyptian-American billionaire investor Fayez Sarofim. Lavigne and Sarofim split in 2019 after less than two years of dating.

That year, Lavigne told People that she would get married again "of course," but added "I don't really care so much about that; I just care about being in a healthy relationship and just being happy."

Mod told Entertainment Tonight Canada in January about how much he admires Lavigne and her music.

"Avril Lavigne has one of my favorite voices in music," Mod said. "It's so strong and confident, yet filled with emotion and one-of-a-kind inflections that only her voice can do."

Lavigne added: "This song holds a lot more weight than meets the eye. There’s a very deep message within it."
