He was a boy, she was a Hollywood Walk of Fame Star.

Avril Lavigne officially has her own star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

The eight-time Grammy nominated Canadian singer celebrated her newfound accolades with a ceremony in Hollywood, California on Aug. 31. Lavigne's fiancé, who is known professionally as Mod Sun, a few of her friends, and fellow collaborator Machine Gun Kelly were also in attendance.

The 37-year-old shared the good news alongside some candid photos from the event on Facebook.

"Look Mom. I got a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame," she wrote.

Lavigne rose to fame in 2002, with her hit single "Complicated" from her debut album Let Go. The song peaked at the Billboard Hot 100's number two spot and went on to receive two Grammy nominations that year; along with her second single, "Sk8er Boi," that secured her title–and legacy–as the international pop-punk princess.

In total, Lavigne has accumulated eight Grammy nominations, five Juno awards (and even more nominations), and countless MTV Music Video Award wins throughout the course of her career.

And now, 20 years after she first topped charts, Lavigne's legacy has literally been cemented into pop culture; and more specifically, the streets of Hollywood.

For those desiring to see a close up of the singer's star, fear not! She posted one on Instagram late last night–no caption needed, obviously.

Lavigne also followed up with a behind-the-scenes snap of the unveiling of her plaque, and captioned it: "The unveiling of my star on the Hollywood Walk Of Fame. ⭐️🥂🤘🏻."
