Ryan Reynolds is a busy guy. He has a wife and a family, owns a soccer team, is an A-list superhero, broadcasted his colonoscopy, and co-owns Aviation American Gin. And today, Aviation American Gin celebrated the grand opening of its very first public-facing distillery and visitor center in Portland, Oregon. Why Portland?

"Of course it was Portland that gave the world Aviation American Gin," Ryan Reynolds exclusively told Travel + Leisure. "Our gin has a smooth, unique flavor and was made from the beginning with a very different perspective. The DNA of Portland is literally in every bottle. Not literally, obviously. That would be some sort of crime.”

Reynolds even gave us all a sneak peek inside the distillery in a hilarious new Instagram post:

The Aviation American Gin Distillery and Visitor Center is a 33,000-square-foot facility that features an intimate tasting room, a draft cocktail bar, and a gift shop, so guests can see the entire gin-making process from A-Z. And as a fun surprise, guests visiting the distillery can also check out Reynolds’ office, which doubles as an escape room where guests can try to solve a series of puzzles to get out.

“About three years ago, we set out to create a one-of-a-kind distillery and tasting experience to give people the opportunity to get a look at how we make the world’s greatest spirit — Aviation American Gin, that is," Reynolds shared in a statement provided to T+L. “We’re thrilled to announce that the Aviation American Gin Distillery is officially open for business in Portland, Oregon, and everyone (21 years and older) is welcome. If a grown-up theme park and a bartender fell in love and produced offspring, it would be this gin factory.”

Hollie Stephenson, the distillery’s director, added that the facility will offer educational tours, too, so guests walk away with a little more knowledge of the gin-making process.

Each tour is as intimate, with no more than 12 people per group. The tour will cost $28 per person, which includes a guided tasting. It’s also a rather laid-back experience as guests can enjoy the distillery tour at their leisure, and those who want to just come in for a tasting can do so by visiting the bar to sip on either draft cocktails or tasting flights without participating in the full tour.

The cocktail menu will rotate seasonally, but guests can expect drinks like Ryan’s Nitro Negroni, Fizzy Bees Knees, Grapefruit Collins, Aviation G&T, Saturn, and the Flora Dora. Guests must be 21 years of age or older with a valid ID to sample or purchase cocktails. Learn more about the new distillery and start planning a visit here.
