Avengers: Endgame's Director Just Shut Down a Captain Marvel Fan Theory

Avengers: Endgame co-director Joe Russo has denied a Captain Marvel fan theory that didn't really have much grounds for belief in the first place. Remember that bit from the trailer when Brie Larson's Carol Danvers stares down Thor after summoning his tree axe to his hand?

Well, some people are convinced they can hear her whisper the words "I have telepathy." She definitely doesn't, but if you still think you can hear it, Joe Russo is here to say you're categorically wrong, because they didn't put it in the film or even think of the idea telepathically or otherwise.

"No. There's no truth to that whatsoever," the director told The Hollywood Reporter. "We buried a lot of Easter eggs in these films over the years, but that was not one that we buried."

Elsewhere, Bucky Barnes/Winter Soldier star Sebastian Stan also caused quite a stir when he shared one fan's criticism of his character's relationship with Steve Rogers aka Captain America.

Avengers: Endgame is out now on DVD, Blu-ray, 3D, 4K and streaming.
