Avengers: Endgame first reactions - Marvel's emotional superhero showdown 'surpasses all expectations'
Avengers: Endgame has lived up to the hype, if the overwhelmingly positive first reactions are anything to go by.
According to the film’s first audience, who attended the world premiere last night, the conclusion to the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s Infinity Saga didn’t disappoint.
Variety’s Ramin Setoodeh said that there “wasn’t a dry eye in the house as the credits rolled”.
Brandon Davis of ComicBook.com said the film was “made for every Marvel fan”, adding: “While watching #AvengersEndgame, I laughed so loud, I clapped with so much force, and I cried so hard.”
He continued: “The movie exceeds every expectation and is the perfect culmination of the entire Marvel Cinematic Universe.”
Peter Sciretta of SlashFilm told fans to “imagine the best possible version of #AvengersEndgame and somehow the film still surpasses all expectations”.
Cast member Robert Downey Jr promised audiences that the film’s ending was “maybe the best eight minutes in the entire history of the whole run” of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Others have called Endgame a “masterful epic” and “an achievement in blockbuster filmmaking”.
