New "Avengers: End Game" Posters Are Being Turned Into Viral Memes

"Avenge the fallen."

Ahead of the April 26th release of Avengers: Endgame, Marvel has released a batch of new promotional posters that highlight which of your fave heroes will be returning, and which characters in the Marvel Universe did not survive previous film iterations.

Naturally, in true Internet fashion, social media has joined in on the fun, creating a new Avengers meme that celebrates that fallen heroes of pop culture history, whether they're actual deaths or just shows gone too soon.

As The Hollywood Reporter explains, the new posters have characters making a comeback for the film displayed in full color, and those have that passed are featured in black and white. Fans have since responded with their own versions, including an ode to members of American Horror Story: Coven who have passed (even if those deaths are occasionally temporary).

Additional fan-made memes spotlight the loss of three Marvel series which were recently cancelled at Netflix, fallen characters from Pixar films, and the colored EZ Squirt ketchup from Heinz. One fan even memorialized the series Smash, which was cancelled after just two seasons, with two characters from the show.

In addition to the already created posters, one Twitter user had a particularly ingenious idea, writing, "Part of me wants to drop one of those 'avenge the fallen' images with someone beloved from GoT who hasn't died and just watch the timeline tear itself apart." And with the official release of this latest Marvel movie still a few weeks away, there's definitely still time for fans to join in on this meme, even if they intend to confuse fans of Game of Thrones.
