"Avatar" fans need not be blue, because there's lots of good news on the horizon.

Based on the box office results for Avatar: The Way of Water, it's likely that James Cameron will able to make all of the Avatar movies he wants to—and for better or worse, that is a lot of Avatar movies. Avatar 3 is set to be released next year. Cameron shot much of the footage for the third movie, and apparently some for the fourth movie, during the production of Avatar: The Way of Water. Is there going to be an Avatar 3?

James Cameron has confirmed that there will be a third Avatar movie. He shot scenes for Avatar 3 during the filming of Avatar: The Way of Water, meaning that much of the upcoming is already shot.

When does Avatar 3 come out?

Jeff Schneider, host of The Hot Mic podcast, claimed that an industry insider told him that Cameron submitted an early cut of the third Avatar film that was nine hours long. These reports, however, have not been confirmed and it is highly likely that the movie will be cut down significantly from its first draft, as is the case with most films.

According to Giant Freakin' Robot, the title for the third Avatar film will be Avatar: The Seed Bearer. These reports have not been confirmed and its possible that the film's title could still go through changes before being officially announced.

James Cameron filmed scenes for the third Avatar movie during the filming of Avatar: The Way of Water. According to producer Jon Landau, filming for the movie was about 95% complete in December 2022.

What is the plot of Avatar 3?

James Cameron has suggested that the third Avatar movie will feature an antagonistic tribe of Na'vi referred to as "The Ash People." These Na'vi are speculated to have ties to fire as opposed to water. It is also likely that the film will once again feature humans attempting to take natural resources from the planet Pandora.

Director James Cameron also confirmed to Entertainment Weekly that he filmed scenes with child actors Trinity Jo-Li Bliss and Jack Champion for Avatar 3 and Avatar 4 during the production of Avatar: The Way of Water. He explained that he didn't want to deal with growth spurts in between movies, joking that it was a "Stranger Things effect."

How can I watch Avatar 3?

The third Avatar movie will most likely be released to theaters before debuting on any streaming platforms. The film will likely be released in 3D and IMAX formats, similarly to the previous films in the franchise.

Will Avatar 3 be on streaming?
