Avatar 3 is set for a name change.

Where it was originally reported in November 2018 James Cameron’s next Avatar film would be called Avatar: The Seed Bearer, franchise producer Jon Landau has now shut down rumors.

“I’m qualified to tell you that that is not the title for Avatar 3,” Landau tells ComicBook. “That’s what my Wikipedia page says? That is getting changed tonight!”

A 2018 BBC article listed the full names for Cameron’s next four movies. The first one, Avatar: The Way of Water, turned out to be correct.

Its sequel, said to be called Avatar: The Seed Bearer, evidently isn’t. That throws into doubt the names of the two remaining films, which the BBC reported are Avatar: The Tulkun Rider, and Avatar: The Quest for Eywa.

The official title for Avatar 3 has yet to be announced, but Cameron and his company are currently hard at work.

They’re set to stick by the original Avatar 3 release date confirmed by James Cameron, with the director stating recently, “We’re into a very hectic two years of post-production right now, so it will be Christmas of 2025.”
