Austin Butler Was Just Asked About His Girlfriend Kaia Gerber’s Ex-Boyfriend Jacob Elordi at the 2023 Golden Globes

Austin Butler was just asked about his girlfriend Kaia Gerber’s ex-boyfriend Jacob Elordi on the 2023 Golden Globes red carpet, and it was a liiittle bit awkward (because who wants to be asked about your partner’s ex, especially in public???), but true to form, Austin kept it classy.

“I just wish him all the best,” Austin said to Variety, per Us Weekly, when the outlet asked about Jacob also playing Elvis in an upcoming movie. “We haven’t spoken, but I hope he has a great time.”

Jacob will star as Elvis in the Sofia Coppola film Priscilla, which will focus on Elvis’s wife, Priscilla Presley. Conversely, Austin’s movie, Elvis, was a biopic about the legendary singer, and Austin just won Best Actor in a Drama Motion Picture at the 2023 Golden Globe Awards for playing the titular role.

Kaia and Jacob ended their relationship in November 2021 after dating for more than a year. Page Six confirmed the news at the time, saying the split was “amicable.” The breakup was a bit of a shock since the couple was pretty serious. Before the split, Kaia gushed about Jacob to Vogue, saying, “Being able to be with someone I trust, where we don’t want anything from each other, having a safe, steady relationship like that, has really opened my eyes to the possibilities of love and what it feels like to love without conditions. Lust is touching other people or wanting them, but love is really seeing someone.”

About a month later, Kaia and Austin were spotted by the Daily Mail while out and about in Los Angeles, of course sparking dating rumors. Not too long afterward, People confirmed that they are indeed a couple to ’ship. Since then, they’ve been doing Kravis-level PDA.
