When Candace Cameron Bure left Hallmark Channel for and exclusive overall deal with Great American Family, fans wondered if they would ever see another Aurora Teagarden mystery movie. Bure starred in the popular franchise that spawned 18 films for Hallmark Movies & Mysteries and there were no plans to stop, but after Bure's defection, it was unclear how they would proceed. Would the series be canceled? Could they recast Bure's leading role as Aurora Teagarden?

The network decided to reimagine the series with a young Aurora Teagarden just starting to hone her sleuthing skills. To tie the old and new together, they decided to have the ageless Marilu Henner reprise her role as Aida Teagarden, Aurora's mother. Henner, who looks almost exactly as she did when she starred in the 1978 series, Taxi, opposite Judd Hirsch and Tony Danza, could easily pull off playing mom to the 20-something Aurora in the reimagined series.

The first in the new reboot is Aurora Teagarden Mysteries: Something New which finds our favorite librarian and crime fiction enthusiast solving a new mystery with her childhood friends. Here's everything we know about the movie including an Parade.com exclusive sneak peek!
