Audemars Piguet Just Dropped 5 New Royal Oaks With Something for Everyone

Audemars Piguet has outdone itself with a slew of new releases across five different collections. Among them, we get a series production inspired by the brand’s 2021 Only Watch offering, high jewelry models highlighting the illustrious snow setting, a new variation of the popular openworked “Jumbo” that returned to the catalog last year, two more 30th anniversary editions of the Offshore and for the first time, a fully blacked out minute repeater rendered in ceramic.

Royal Oak “Jumbo” Extra-Thin

The latest edition of the Royal Oak “Jumbo” Extra-Thin brings two high-tech materials to the iconic collection: titanium and bulk metallic glass (BMG). You may recall the combination from a few years prior when AP launched a similar edition as its piece unique for the 2021 Only Watch charity auction, which marked the first time the brand had used BMG in one of its creations. Now, with the new Royal Oak Jumbo Extra-Thin, we get this unique combination once again. This cutting-edge material has been co-developed by AP with a palladium base, marking another first and making it particularly shiny and resistant to scratches. Inside, you’ll find the caliber 7121, which was introduced in 2022 to replace the caliber 2121—the movement that had powered the “Jumbo” models since 1972.

AP also has something for those who like a little (or rather a lot) of bling: four new high jewelry versions of the classic Royal Oak. These models mark the first in the Royal Oak family to feature the rare and highly technical snow setting, which creates a luminous effect that highlights the model’s unmistakable architecture. The new high jewelry models are available in two colorways—18-karat white or pink gold—and two sizes, 34mm and 37mm, making them highly wearable as well. Powering the 34mm iterations is the self-winding caliber 5809 whereas the 37mm versions house the self-winding caliber 5909, which offers the added bonus of a date indication.

Royal Oak “Jumbo” Extra-Thin Openworked

In 2022, as part of the monumental 50th anniversary of the Royal Oak, AP launched the Royal Oak “Jumbo” Extra-Thin Openworked in pink gold and stainless steel. This marked the first open-worked “Jumbos” to appear in the brand’s catalog in eight years. Now, we get the addition of a yellow gold variation. The new 18-karat yellow gold Royal Oak “Jumbo” Extra-Thin Openworked retains the same DNA as the iterations that debuted last year, including the sweet-spot 39mm sizing. Inside, you’ll find the caliber 7124, which made its debut in the Royal Oak “Jumbo” Extra-Thin Open-worked. The movement notably lacks a date complication, making it extra thin at just 2.7mm.

Royal Oak Offshore Chronograph Ceramic

This year marks the 30th anniversary of the Royal Oak Offshore, which initially debuted in AP’s catalog back in 1993. In celebration, we get two more additions to the Offshore lineup following the slew of commemorative editions we’ve already seen this year. For the latest iterations, we see a continued theme of play with different materials including ceramic, titanium, and gold with one in blue and one in two-tone. Coming in at 43mm each, the latest Offshore models reinterpret the 44 mm Ref. 26405CE launched in 2020. In addition, both models are powered by the caliber 4401, AP’s latest self-winding integrated chronograph movement, offering a flyback function.

Royal Oak Minute Repeater Supersonnerie

Last but certainly not least, for those seeking that extra technical prowess, AP offers two new Royal Oak Minute Repeater Supersonnerie timepieces in black ceramic for the first time. With its patented Supersonnerie technology, the brand has conquered numerous materials, from titanium to 950 platinum, and now sleek, all-black ceramic. These two watches represent some incredible achievements, overcoming ceramic’s limited sound conductivity. AP has equipped the models with its latest hand-wound minute repeater movement, the patented caliber 2953, which blends advanced technology with refined traditional finishing. This in combination with the brand’s patented Supersonnerie technology that was first unveiled in 2015 allows these watches to offer remarkable acoustic performance alongside the practical and aesthetic benefits of lightweight ceramic.
