Auburn Quads: Community rallies around front-line heroes expecting quadruplets

AUBURN, Ala. (WRBL)  – In the heart of Auburn, a beloved school officer, Lavareis Bryant, and his equally remarkable wife, Becca Bryant, a dedicated cardiovascular ICU nurse, are preparing to embrace an extraordinary chapter in their lives – the arrival of not one, not two, but four new additions to their family.

Lavareis Bryant, revered for his commitment to the safety and welfare of students and educators, achieved hero status following his courageous actions during a road rage incident near a local school. His wife, Becca Bryant, provides steadfast support in emergencies as a cardiovascular ICU nurse. It takes a lot to rattle these two, but they were both caught off guard during their ultrasound session. In the video, you see Lavareis Bryant candidly saying, “What do you mean four?” He remembers getting really hot in the doctor’s office.
Becca says she thought she was having twins based on her lab work and made a bet with her husband. Becca took the video to capture her husband’s reaction to twins – but she got the shock of her life too, “I wasn’t ready for that,” she said.

Lavareis Bryant, himself a twin, says his sister also has twins. With three children already in their care, aged 11, 6, and 2, the Bryants had envisioned expanding their family by one more. However, their hopes were exceeded as they received the extraordinary news of quadruplets.

“I’m so excited to meet them and see what they look like because A and B are identical – which are the girls – C and D are the boys, and there’s a chance they could be identical, but we won’t know until they are born- so it’s like what if we have two sets of identical twins – that’s even more rare,” said Becca Bryant.

As they anticipate the arrival of their quadruplets after July 1st, each passing day beyond the 28-week mark is cherished as a precious blessing. Yet, Becca’s pregnancy has presented challenges, marked by severe headaches and nausea, amidst her pursuit of another degree. The path forward includes career adjustments and frequent trips to Birmingham to consult with UAB OB specialists alongside Lavareis Bryant’s juggling act of law enforcement duties and a burgeoning contractor business.

In light of the significant hurdles ahead, both known and unknown, the ‘Quads of Auburn’ Family finds solace in the unwavering support of their community. A “Bryant, party of 9! QUADS on the way” GoFundMe campaign has been launched, alongside the sale of “Quads of Aubs” t-shirts, showcasing the collective effort to assist.

Touched by the overwhelming generosity of strangers and acquaintances alike, Becca Bryant expresses gratitude, “I have people reach out to me that I don’t even know, and they’re like, hey, I saw your story. I have twins. Do you need this? Can you use this? And I’m like, oh my gosh, yes, please, and thank you.”

As the ‘Quads of Auburn’ Family prepares for the arrival of their four miracles, East Alabama is ready to extend a helping hand.
