Aubrey Plaza Flashes Her Abs In An Ultra-Cropped Plaid Top And Matching Pants On ‘The Tonight Show’

Aubrey Plaza rocked a chic plaid, ab-baring set during her Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon appearance this week, and fans can’t get enough of her Y2K-esque glam.

While swinging by the late night New York City talk show, the Parks & Recreation actress, 38, discussed her history interning at Saturday Night Live, how she is preparing to host the comedy show this weekend, and also opened up about her role on the acclaimed second season of The White Lotus.

Aubrey Plaza Puts Her Toned Abs On Full Display In Plaid Crop Top And Chic Trousers

Plaza’s ensemble was composed of a blazer-like, long-sleeved crop top that helped highlight her sculpted abs and toned figure, high-waisted matching trousers with an early aughts-inspired fit, and shiny nude, pointed-toe pumps. Talk about a power suit!

The Ingrid Goes West alum wore her newly blonde tresses in an elegant, tousled, center-parted wavy bob and accessorized her get-up with a shimmering chain necklace, gold hoop earrings and chunky rings.

As for makeup, Plaza went for classic winged cat-eye black liner, voluminous lashes, radiant highlighter and blush, and pulled it all together with a glossy pink lip.

Plaza Opens Up About Failed SNL Audition

While we now know Plaza from her beloved satirical, hilarious and deadpan roles, there once was a time when she was an aspiring comedian who auditioned for a cast spot on Saturday Night Live.

This audition, as she revealed to Fallon, was not received as well as she had hoped. “I didn’t make it to the Lorne [Michaels] audition, the famous final audition, but I did a preliminary first-round showcase,” she said.

She added that for the audition, she created two characters that were very quirky. “I remember one character I did was like a Puerto Rican news reporter that was always trying to make all of the news stories sexy, even if they were horrific news stories,” she revealed. “I was just trying to like, sex up the news or something.”

Her second character was more cringey, and Plaza described this to be a “pill-popping housewife.” That character had her “own talk show called Celebri-Tails, where I would just name celebrities and name what kind of tail they would have if they had a tail. Like I would say, ‘Lindsay Lohan would have a bushy squirrel’s tail.’ Or, like, ‘Bill Clinton would have a polar bear’s nub.'”

While Plaza did not make the cast of SNL, she did intern on the show soon after. Now, we can’t wait to see the Emily the Criminal star make her return to Studio 8H as the host of the sketches this weekend!
