Attention, Color Lovers: Behr Wants To Send One Paint-Obsessed Person To Explore the Brightest Places in America

Maybe it’s through the electric green of a Florida palm or the deep blue of the California sea, but traveling offers the unique opportunity to see the world in vivid color. And those shades, whether you realize it or not, inevitably end up finding their way into your home and wardrobe.

That’s why paint giant Behr is seeking one color savvy explorer to head out on the road in search of the brightest, most inspiring sights across the country and beyond in the hopes of scouting out some sweet new paint shades.

The Color Explorer gig—a first for the company—opened to creative candidates for applications April 24, with qualifications including, of course, an affinity for color and being “open to new, unforgettable, and inspiring experiences.”

As the chosen Color Explorer, travelers will be whisked away on an all-expenses-paid trip (plus a $10,000 stipend) to vibrant destinations throughout the U.S. and Canada, including glacial lakes in Canada’s Banff National Park and rainbow-hued streets in Charleston. During their journey, travelers are encouraged to take field notes and photos of color inspiration they encounter to be shared on Behr’s blog and social media.

Perhaps the best part? At the end of the whole adventure, the color explorer can use their inspiration to dream up all new paint colors for the brand (and, presumably, for their own home—swoon!).

Sound like a dream job? Applications are open now through May 15, with prospective explorers required to spill on which hue inspires them most. Need some ideas? Here’s our ultimate guide to beach house color.
