Season 3 of High School Musical: The Musical: The Series has officially commenced, and we get to see all of our favorite wildcats in places we've never seen them before. While EJ (Matt Cornett), Gina (Sofia Wylie), Ricky (Joshua Bassett), Carlos (Frankie Rodriguez), Ashlyn (Julia Lester), and Kourtney (Dara Reneé) are putting on a musical production of Disney's Frozen at Camp Shallow Lake, Nini (Olivia Rodrigo) is embarking on a road trip to Southern California with her moms.

With new places come new faces, and Nini's trip is no exception. In the upcoming episode, Nini meets her moms' close friend from college, Marvin, who's played by IRL Broadway veteran and Modern Family star, Jesse Tyler Ferguson.

While we've all been waiting in anticipation for the next episode of HSM:TM:TS, "Into the Unknown," to hit Disney+ on Wednesday, August 3, at least we can tide ourselves over with this never-before-seen clip (!!) of Olivia and Jesse from the ep, where their characters bond with each other by asking different questions.

Marvin opens up about his favorite types of music and eventually goes on to describe his influences. Nini then learns he was in a band with her parents when they were in college — it looks like her singer-songwriter roots may not fall too far from the tree, after all.

While Nini makes a potentially life-changing discovery in LA, a reluctant EJ takes the reins in a new role for Camp Shallow Lake's production of Frozen. Our seasoned wildcats and new campers bring surprising vocal chops — and competition — to Frozen's auditions.

There's so much to look forward to this season of HSM:TM:TS with new songs, ships, and storylines. Plus, guest stars like Jesse and JoJo Siwa (a.k.a the crossover we never knew we needed), are joining the wildcats for an unforgettable summer.
