Attention! You Can Apply to Be an Extra in 'Yellowstone' Prequel Series '1923'

We have an announcement for fans of all things Yellowstone! Get ready because you might have a chance to be featured in its prequel series, 1923!
The highly anticipated Dutton origin story (starring the legendary Helen Mirren and Harrison Ford!) is looking to bring on extras ahead of filming.
According to NBC Montana, Legacy Casting and King Street Productions are now casting background actors for the show. But here's the kicker—the 1923 creators want the show to seem as authentic as possible. So, if you don't have much experience in front of the camera, don't worry.
"You don't need acting experience," said casting director and owner of Legacy Casting Andrei Constantinescu. "This is regular people we're looking for."
The 1923 prequel series will carry on the story of the Dutton family that we met in the initial prequel, 1883. According to the show's creators, 1923 "will introduce a new generation of the Dutton family and explore the early twentieth century when pandemics, historic drought, the end of Prohibition, and the Great Depression all plague the mountain west, and the Duttons who call it home."
Though the creators didn't share much else, we know that 1923 will be produced by MTV Entertainment Studios and 101 Studios—the same production companies that brought us Yellowstone and 1883. So, we can expect it to be good!
Now, 1923 is just one of many Taylor Sheridan shows in the Yellowstone universe. It joins 1883, 1883: The Bass Reeves Story, and 6666. So, you might be thinking: How does 1923 tie in? We can expect an answer to this question soon, as the premiere for the prequel is expected to air on Paramount+ in December.
The story and filming will mostly take place in Montana (the same place where Yellowstone is filmed). So, Montana residents, you're in luck!
The casting agency will be looking to hire people of all ages. And though this isn't a requirement, it might be helpful if you have some horse riding experience. That being said, "if you have never done anything in front of a camera, anything on stage, any acting classes ever, that is OK," said Constantinescu.
Either way—getting a chance to be in the presence of icons such as Mirren and Ford is enough to convince anyone to apply for this dream job. 🙌
