So which Major League Baseball team are people eager to watch? To determine America’s favorite team, we first looked at the most popular in each state based on sales from ticket marketplace Vivid Seats. The data is based on 2019 regular-season games only and not spring training or the playoffs.

Based on those metrics, most popular MLB teams in America were the Atlanta Braves and Boston Red Sox, which each were the most popular in five states.

The Atlanta Braves were the most popular in the Southern states of Georgia, Alabama, Mississippi, Tennessee, North Carolina and South Carolina. Similarly, the Boston Red Sox were most popular in the Northeastern states of Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Vermont, New Hampshire and Maine, as well as the U.S. Virgin Islands.

As far as which teams drew the biggest crowds, the Los Angeles Dodgers led the way with nearly 4 million fans passing through Dodger Stadium’s gates in 2019, followed by the St. Louis Cardinals (3.4 million) and New York Yankees (3.3 million).

These are the most popular teams in all of America, but here are the most popular Major League Baseball teams in each state.
