Astonishing Destruction of Ski Lifts in the Aftermath of Hurricane Hilary

The aftermath of Tropical Storm Hillary has left Lee Canyon Ski Resort in a distressing state. In the video footage, we witness the shocking extent of land and gravel slides that have completely submerged sections of the lift tower at the resort's base. While the hurricane spared coastal California from severe damage, the same cannot be said for inland areas. The video specifically focuses on the Sherwood chairlift, It's evident that these lifts will remain out of commission for an extended period. The aftermath is truly alarming.

The duration required for the removal of rocks and mud beneath the chairlifts at Lee Canyon remains uncertain. The resort has refrained from specifying a cleanup timetable, though the U.S. Forest Service has taken the precautionary measure of indefinitely closing the surrounding Spring Mountains National Recreation Area. A few days following the storm's impact, the resort conveyed the premature conclusion of its summer mountain biking season through a concise Instagram post. Subsequently, on Thursday, August 24, the resort unveiled a series of images that vividly depicted the extent of the catastrophic damage sustained.
