Aspen Receives Over 30 Inches Of Fresh Powder In The Last Week

What has been a slow start to the '23/'24 winter season has turned around in a big way: 6 inches in the last day, 9 inches in the last three days, and over 30 inches in the last week has people fired up at Aspen in Colorado.

In an update posted to X (formerly Twitter) yesterday, officials at Aspen thanked mother nature for her hard work, and bringing the goods, writing "Dear January, thank you. Sincerely, all of us. More than 30 inches in the last week and it’s still snowing."

Check out Aspen's raw snow data here.

Snowmass hasn't done too bad, either: 6 inches in the last day, 9 inches over the last three days, and 22 inches over the last week.

Aspen Highlands received 7 inches in the last day, 11 inches in the last three days, and 31 inches in the last week.

Buttermilk saw 2 inches in the last day, 3 inches in the last three days, and 7 inches over the last week.

Aspen and Snowmass opened a bit earlier than the other two mountains, on November 23rd, compared to Aspen Highlands and Buttermilk's December 9th opening.

Regardless, all four mountains are firing on all cylinders right now, and we're stoked for everyone skiing in Colorado.

Aspen may see a couple more inches in the next 5 days, but nothing as crazy as what just dumped down on the mountains.

Today should be partly sunny, with highs in the mid-30s and lows in the 10s, giving everyone the perfect opportunity to enjoy the new snow.

The following days look equally mild, with highs in the 40s and lows in the low 20s.

What can we say? Nothing, except we're glad winter has arrived in spectacular fashion. Get those smears, butters, and surfy pow turns in. We'll live vicariously through all the face shots we're sure will be shared in the week to come.
