Dolly Parton x Duncan Hines Collection

When you mention the name Dolly Parton, the words "icon" and "living legend" should follow. From her celebrated discography to her status as one of America's most beloved sweethearts, the Iron Butterfly is one person that we have to protect at all costs.

While we're all busy fawning over the multi-talented artist for her sweet-as-pie personality, it's her actual cooking that's been getting her plenty of praise lately. Whether you're making her skillet cornbread from scratch or going with a boxed option from her new Bake Like a Rockstar collection, when Dolly drops some info, you do nothing but listen. And in a recent interview with Parade, the songstress dropped a gem that can't be ignored: the perfect way to win over someone's heart for Valentine's Day.

As the old fable notes, the way to a person's heart is through their stomach, and this Valentine's Day, Dolly has the ideal meal—and dessert—you should be making for your current or soon-to-be lover.

"Since it is Valentine's Day, I think a good ol' chocolate cake is great," Dolly said. "You can put some strawberries and some little hearts on that."

Going on to note that she always bakes her husband a chocolate cake because he loves chocolate, dessert wasn't the only thing she recommended making for the big day. And her go-to option was chosen for one particular reason: it's red.

"I do sometimes make pasta when it's Valentine's Day because of the red sauce," she revealed. "Anything to do with the heart, the colors...I like to plan like that. It has to do with romance."

So, you heard it hear first, folks. According to Dolly, pasta with a red sauce and chocolate cake need to be the only things on your menu this Valentine's Day. And as a result, maybe we can all have a lengthy and successful marriage like she has—if that's your desire, of course!
