Is the iconic Disney Channel show making a comeback?

If you miss the OG Disney days, you're not alone. People have been begging for a Suite Life of Zack and Cody reboot for years, and now fan-favorite actress Ashley Tisdale is giving her two cents on the possibility.

We were ecstatic to sit down with the actress behind the lovable Maddie Fitzpatrick, although we come bearing sad news: Tisdale doesn't plan on returning to the Tipton Hotel anytime soon.

"I don't see that in the future right now," the former Disney Channel star told us. "I feel like I'm definitely past that in just where I am in life."

Tisdale began starring on Suite Life in 2005 up until the series finale in 2008. The show was followed by the spinoff series Suite Life on Deck, although Tisdale was not part of the cast. (She did, however, reprise her role as Maddie for one episode of Suite Life on Deck.)

Since then, Tisdale has been busy starring in other projects, founding her own company and starting a family with husband Christopher French. The pair had their first child together nearly two years ago, welcoming daughter Jupiter in March 2021. She also launched her wellness blog, Frenshe, in 2020, which has since grown and gotten its own product line, Being Frenshe—so it's safe to say Tisdale is pretty busy.

"The one thing with acting right now, is that since having my child, the more work I bring on, the more I take away from her," she told us. "I think for me and acting, I have to be really excited and passionate about it to go do a role."

And even though Tisdale says she loved Suite Life and says the experience was part of her childhood, that's just it: it was her childhood and she has since done a lot of adulting. "I don't know if I'd want to play the same character again," she says.

"I feel like there's more purpose to my work [now] in a way," she adds. "I really am fulfilled."

We really can't blame Tisdale for not loving the idea of a reboot right now, as her former co-star Cole Sprouse has previously expressed similar feelings.

"Reboots are a tricky thing, you know?" the Riverdale star previously stated while appearing on The Drew Barrymore Show in 2021. "The original shows, when they become successful, sit in this little golden plate of nostalgia. And when you modernize it and go back to it, it has the potential to really disenfranchise the original fanbase. So it’s a very, very touchy thing."

"I am asked all the time if {twin brother Dylan Sprouse] and I are going to do a Suite Life reboot and I go, 'No, absolutely not,'" he added.

Lucky for fans, all episodes of Suite Life of Zack & Cody and spinoff Suite Life on Deck are currently available to stream on Disney+.
