Ashley Judd is making huge strides after two summers healing leg injuries.

The 55-year-old shared a message of gratitude alongside around a dozen new photos and videos on Instagram over the weekend, documenting her unbelievably beautiful hike through parts of the Swiss Alps.

"Walking. Switzerland. After 5 breaks in right leg, a paralyzed foot, possible amputation, all while hemorrhaging, my leg and I have come far in 2.5 years since my accident in Democratic Republic of Congo," she wrote in the caption. "We came far up these Alps, for the sheer joy of it, confidently. Ongoing gratitude of profound proportions to the Congolese who saved me, and the surgeons, neurologist, and physical therapist who set me up for this stunning recovery."

Judd concluded with a question for her followers, "How are you celebrating your blessings?"

In Feb. 2021, the Double Jeopardy actress shattered her leg while visiting the Democratic Republic of the Congo for research on the Bonobo, an endangered ape species.

During her visit, Judd tripped over a fallen tree and broke her leg in four places. She was transported in a 55-hour rescue to a hospital in South Africa, where she underwent an eight-hour surgery. She then spent months in physical therapy, healing and regaining her strength.

The following summer, the movie star opened up about a second leg injury she sustained shortly after the tragic death of her mother, Naomi Judd, in April 2022.

In conversation with a UCLA professor, the Where the Heart Is alum revealed she fractured her femoral condyle–part of the knee joint–blaming it on a bout of grief-induced "clumsiness."

"It was what it was," she said at the time. "Clumsiness is associated with grief, and there were other people in our family, after mom died, who fell stairs and had accidents, and that's just what mine happened to look like. It really allowed me to grieve. It really allowed me to stop what I was working on at that moment and to grieve."

This season, we're happy to report the actress appears to be thriving.
