Ashley Graham’s denim dress is a major throwback to *that* iconic Y2K Britney ’fit

Ashley Graham just stepped out in a jeans-print dress to attend Gigi Hadid’s Guest In Residence collaboration with LuisaViaRoma in Milan, and she is serving *major* Y2K Britney Spears vibes.

The look was, well, gorgeous, with thick metal buttons over the bust (perhaps from the original pair of jeans?!?!) stitched together with numerous denim fragments. Ashley accessorised the look with a blue-accented cat-eye flick, a shimmery lip, and hair in loose-glamorous waves. Paired with gold open-toe heels and silver hoops, it was a serious vibe.

The dress looked super reminiscent of Britney Spears’ 2001 denim dress, which has definitely gone down in fashion history. For those in need of a refresher, Britney famously donned her Kurt and Bart patchwork dress at the American Music Awards, arriving with Justin Timberlake, who completed the look in a matching Canadian tuxedo. What. A. Moment.

And this isn’t the first time a celeb has paid tribute to the pop princess's iconic look. Just last year, Dua took to her Instagram wearing a fitted denim dress from Blumarine’s spring/summer 2023 collection, captioning it: “show 93 baby!!!!!!! 🥶”.

And back in 2014, Katy Perry and Riff Raff stepped onto the red carpet at the MTV Video Music Awards in a matching his/hers denim combo that screamed Britney and Justin.

Taking to Twitter, Katy posted about the custom Versace look: "@Britneyspears I did my best impression, hope you likey!"

To which Britney replied: "@katyperry Just when I thought the denim dress had retired....you bring it back! You looked amazing tonight bb ;)"
