Ashlee Simpson’s Daughter Jagger May Have Convinced Her to Go Back to This Business Venture

Despite Ashlee Simpson not releasing music since 2012 (and her last album Bittersweet World came out four years prior), it seems she may return to her rocker sound — all thanks to her daughter Jagger.
In a recent interview, Simpson revealed that her daughter Jagger adores her old albums. “I’m inspired that my daughter is so inspired by my old albums,” she said, adding that she “the itch and I’m very ready” to get back to music.

However, she also revealed how each of her kids’ love for music has been a driving force for her to finally return to music. “We have such a wide variety of music in our house, from soul to rock. I feel like lately we’ve been bringing it back,” she said. “There are just so many different moments in music. It’s so fun to connect to — ‘Oh, that time in my life I heard this song’ . . . I connect to so many different sounds of music, especially with my kids.”
Her eldest son Bronx “has the best taste in music,” Jagger adores Olivia Rodrigo, and Simpson’s youngest Ziggy Blu is so “cool” for the music he loves. She said, “It depends who I have in my car. If I have my 2-year-old, it’s ‘The Wheels on the Bus.’ I’m like, please, no, let’s listen to Stevie Wonder. He’s cool!”

So, Simpson has three children in total. She first gave birth to her eldest son Bronx, 14, with her ex-husband Pete Wentz in November 2008, but she and Wentz split up in 2011. Simpson started dating her now-husband Ross in 2013, and got married a year later in August 2014. The two have welcomed two children: Jagger, now 8, and Ziggy Blu, 2.
