Aside from getting a trailer for the new Pokémon series, we now have a summary of Ash and Pikachu's final Pokémon anime episode. Titled "Rainbow and the Pokémon Master!," the synopsis shared by a Japanese TV guide reveals that the episode will see Ash and his companion return to his hometown, Pallet Town.

Returning to Pallet Town, Ash will come face-to-face with his original rival, Gary. In the pilot for the show that debuted back in 1998, the two trainers started their journeys to become the very best. Ash and Gary will discuss their travels with Gary asking the protagonist if he feels like he’s a Pokémon Master after his Championship win earlier in the season. Other familiar characters set to return include Misty and Brock, who served as traveling companions for Ash and Pikachu for numerous years.

"When Ash and Pikachu return to Pallet Town, they reunite with Gary who asks Ash the question: How much closer to becoming the Pokémon Master are you now that you’ve become the Champion? Becoming a Pokémon Master has been Ash’s dream ever since he set off on his journey with Pikachu. Will Ash be able to find the answer to this question?"

The final episode of the Pokémon anime featuring Ash and Pikachu will be airing in Japan March 24, with a North American airing with an English dub expected to arrive in the latter half of 2023.
