Art Walk on the Square Summer Series, Art After Hours series in Athens start Saturday

May 8—Athens Arts League and High Cotton Arts will begin two event series in Athens for art and music lovers, the Art Walk on the Square Summer Series and Art After Hours.

People can visit High Cotton Arts, located at 103 W. Washington St. in Athens, and other businesses on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. for presentations, demonstrations, pop-up classes, specials, Mother's Day gifts and more. This year's theme is "Love."

Art Walk on the Square series:

—Saturday, 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., themed "A Mother's Love"

—June 8, 10 a.m. to 1 p. m., themed "Love is in the Air"

—July 13, 10 a.m. to 1 p. m., themed "For the Love of Art"

Art After Hours will consist of free music from 7 p.m. to 9 in front of High Cotton.

Art After Hours series:

—Saturday, 7 to 9 p.m., Will Paustian Music

—June 22, 7 to 9 p.m., Tres Locos

—July 6, 7 to 9 p.m., JED Eye

—Aug. 10, 7 to 9 p.m., a gospel fest

—Sept. 6, 7 to 9 p.m., to be determined, will include art contest/exhibit for Childhood Cancer Awareness Month

Both events will include an art station for children.
