Former Arrow star Katie Cassidy has revealed that she'd love to play the Joker in some other DC-based outing one day.

While appearing as a guest on the Geek House Show YouTube series, the actor—who brought Laurel Lance, aka Black Canary and later, Black Siren, to life on the aforementioned superhero show—was asked whether she'd ever be interested in portraying another character from the comics.

"Yes, Catwoman," Cassidy replied quickly, before explaining: "I've always been a big fan. Michelle Pfeiffer killed it as Catwoman. I also happen to be a big fan of cats."

Then, she added that it "would be really cool to play The Joker, but as a woman," claiming that she thinks she'd "make a pretty good Joker."

While it might seem like a more far-off fantasy than her playing the likes of feline-friendly foe Selina Kyle, a female version of the Clown Prince of Crime did feature in the source material's Flashpoint storyline. That plot saw Bruce Wayne's mother Martha adopt the mantle, develop a penchant for comedy-related felonies and fight her husband, Batman.

As Arrow was nearing the broadcast of its final episode earlier this year, news began to circulate about a spin-off series centred on Laurel, Dinah Drake (Juliana Harkavy) and Mia Queen (Katherine McNamara). Since then though, there hasn't seemed to be all that much movement on it.

"I'm not entirely sure if there's another chapter to be had at this moment in time," Arrow producer Marc Guggenheim told his Twitter followers back in August. So it's not looking all that positive right now.
