How to Rearrange the Order of Your Flash Briefings on Alexa

You’re a very busy lady, which means one of your favorite ways to keep up with the news is to command the Amazon Alexa on your countertop to rattle off the top stories of the day (aka your flash briefing). But you’re also a very cerebral lady, which means you subscribe to quite a few flash briefings—from NPR to PureWow—all of which play in the order you added them to your queue. The problem is that, some days, you don’t have time to listen all the way through. Here, how to adjust the order of your daily flash briefing.

First, you have to log in. Go to your Amazon Alexa account, then go to Settings > Flash Briefing. There you will see a list of all the flash briefings you subscribe to laid out from top to bottom in the order they will be played on your device.

Next, re-arrange the list. Say you want to hear the Good News from PureWow first (and always first). Simply click Edit Order in the upper right-hand corner, then drag and drop each briefing to adjust the lineup. When you’re finished re-arranging, click Done to save the new order. That’s it!

We still <3 you, NPR. But briefings that last longer than two minutes are messing with our a.m. flow.
