Arnold Schwarzenegger just gave fans a rare peek into his fitness routine, posting a picture on social media of himself "getting pumped" at the gym before a climate change conference. Because tackling the world's environmental crisis without an adequate pump session is just unreasonable.

In the black and white photo posted to Instagram on June 13, Schwarzenegger wears a gray tee while training arms on a seated bicep curl machine. Reminder: This is the same guy who turns 75 years old next month.

"Getting pumped earlier for today’s Austrian World Summit," Schwarzenegger captioned the photo.

The Austrian World Summit is a climate conference — not a fitness conference — hosted every year in Vienna, drawing climate activists from around the world to discuss the growing environmental crisis. Schwarzenegger launched the annual event via his Schwarzenegger Climate Initiative in 2017 with the support of Austria's President Alexander Van der Bellen. After getting sufficiently pumped, Schwarzenegger spoke at this year's conference about the role technology can play in the pursuit of clean energy.

Back in October, Schwarzenegger shared how he's changed his workout routine as he ages with readers of his newsletter, highlining how he now uses machines rather than free weights when hitting the gym.

"I’ve chosen to adapt to my age, make my workouts a little bit different and focused on staying lean, and avoiding injury," he wrote in the October newsletter. "This is why I’ve moved away from free weights and stick to the workout machines."

Schwarzenegger also gave a glimpse into his workout routine in another 2021 newsletter, adding that he's no longer "training to win Mr. Olympia," but to maintain his health. For Arnold, that looks like training six days a week, doing five sets of 20 reps for every damn exercise. Totally low-key.
