Batman Arkham Trilogy Switch Battinson suit

About a month ago, a new Batman: Arkham Knight skin was released on the Epic Games Store, before promptly being pulled. At the time, it all seemed a bit fishy, mostly due to who was sharing pictures of it and the circumstances in which it appeared, but as it turns out, it wasn’t a hoax — Robert Pattinson’s The Batman is indeed coming to Batman: Arkham Knight.

The new addition was announced by Nintendo in the gameplay launch trailer for the Batman: Arkham Trilogy, which got a last-minute delay on Switch earlier this year. The trilogy, which includes Arkham Asylum, Arkham City, and Arkham Knight, is set to launch in just a couple days.

The trailer shows the usual sizzle reel of gameplay and big exciting game words, like “for the first time on Nintendo Switch” and “experience the award-winning trilogy,” but that’s not the important part. No, the important part is what comes at the very end of the trailer:

Yup, Robert Pattinson’s Batsuit from the best Batman movie is going to be included at no extra cost in the Switch version of Arkham Knight. It looks pretty good, as you can see above — way better than the clearly unfinished version that was accidentally released on the EGS.

Disclaimer text included in the promo says that the skin will only be available in Arkham Knight, not the other games in the Arkham Trilogy, which makes sense, as Rocksteady probably isn’t going to mod skins into the almost 15-year-old Arkham Asylum. It’s also going to be exclusive to Nintendo Switch for a little while, with the skin said to be coming to other platforms “at a later date.”

The trailer also notes that the Switch port of these games was developed by Turn Me Up Games, an LA-based development studio that actually has a pretty good track record for Switch ports. It previously handled the Borderlands: Legendary Collection Switch port, as well as ports of It Takes Two, Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1+2, and Journey to the Savage Planet — all quite good ports, giving us hope for Arkham.

Batman: Arkham Trilogy will launch on Nintendo Switch on December 1, 2023.
